Following the disbanding of Castelan in early 2004, the city returned to normal policing and The Constabulary was quickly established. Since that time it has found itself at the forefront of the fight against crime in the city - a fight that has seen the assassination of one of its Chief Constable and the deaths of nearly a hundred officers. In addition, rumours of outside interference from a number of outside agencies have led to accusations that nothing has changed, The Constabulary is Castelan in a thin disguise.
Now under the leadership of John Winters, The Constabulary has recently declared war on organised crime in the city. Whether it will have any more success than its predecessors remains to be seen, but it is a brave move for a police force that has found itself under a constant stage of siege since its inception.
