Of all of the principals of the Asharaka it is The Wind with which most contact has occurred. However, like his master The Prophet, little is known about him.
What is clear is that he is a warrior of almost peerless ability; swift to attack with pinpoint accuracy, he presented the clearest threat to the Court should the Asharaka ever wish to attack them. Given that he had so far managed to penetrate the Elysium's security on two separate occasions, hold one Kindred to ransom and dispatch over thirty Daughters of the Desert in a single night without breaking a sweat, this is not a proposition that many would favour.
However, The Wind also provided the clearest evidence of the Asharaka's initial motives. He has defended Andrew Sant from attack by the Daughters of the Desert, destroyed the only known hard copy of the PromEpim Virus and entered personnel combat with Shara. If the Asharaka's interests in the virus remained unclear, they at least appeared to be acting towards similar goals to the Court.
Following the split within the Asharaka, The Wind remained loyal to The Prophet, finally coming to the aid of the Court during the events of February 2005. He sacrificed himself in order to save Hellana from being sacrificed by the Setite's without a second thought, leading some to wonder if the prophecies surrounding him were true. His body turned to ash, all that remained were his weapons. In turn, these were returned to The Prophet.
To have witnessed The Wind in combat was to have witnessed a defiance of the laws of physics. Gravity becomes a plaything as he twisted and turned across the walls and ceiling, Earthly resistances overcome at terrifying speeds impossible to see with the human eye. Fights become three dimensional as he pirouetted between his foes dispatching all with a practised ease. The Wind presented the possibility of combat as an art form, something above the mundane, a beauty to behold.
Whilst it was initially unclear as to why he fought, his death may have finally provided the answer. Perhaps you are only truly able to fight without fear is when you know when you are going to die.
