The story of Susan Willis is a tragic one, but even amongst the sadness of the fact it should be remembered that without her it is likely that Andrew Sant would have succeeded in his planned coup.
Susan Willis had a promising future as a reporter. Although she only worked for a local newspaper many saw this as merely the first step on what would be a glittering career. She was determined to get to the heart of any story and present the truth.
During the early part of 2003 she discovered footage of Castelan officers executing members of G8 Suppress during the supposed rescue attempt. Further investigations of the footage indicated that the rescue had also been carried out by Castelan officers, pointing to a possible conspiracy to destroy G8 Suppress without drawing attention. Susan decided to withhold the information until it could be confirmed by another source.
However, on learning of the possible existence of such footage, Andrew Sant dispatched Castelan officers to her offices to recover the tape. Although Susan Willis was not there, another twenty members of staff were. Fearing that they had all viewed the tape, Sant had them executed, pinning the blame on Willis.
On the run for knowing the truth, Willis was found by the Court. After a subsequent attack by Castelan officers she was relocated out of the city for her own safety whilst the Court tried to figure out what to do. Meanwhile, Castelan held captured and tried a false Susan Willis, although she was eventually found innocent.
The real Susan Willis returned to the city in order to put her affairs in order. It is believed that it was during this period that she discovered the tape recording of Andrew Sant ordering her execution, which she gave to her brother for safe keeping. Shortly afterwards, Susan was killed by a hit & run driver. However, the tape remained in existence and was eventually provided the evidence that was needed to bring the military in to the city and end Sant's attempted coup.
