A clear case of “Be careful what you want, for what you want you just might get”, Steven Thomas was the head of a hardcore splinter cell of the activist group G8 Suppress. After a member of the Court blamed the group for a series of attacks across the city in order to redirect the authorities from the Court, Thomas waged war on the city in retaliation. When Castelan decided to rid the world of the group, the war escalated even further.
But things could have been different for Steven Thomas. Raised by a loving family, well educated and connected, he could have chosen a career in politics to fight for his beliefs. Instead, a chance meeting during the Poll Tax Riots of 1990 lead to him forming G8 Suppress with fellow activist Jessica Reid. When Reid decided that the group should follow non violent means of protest, Thomas initially followed. However, following a near fatal beating by security of an unnamed multi-national he split to form is own, harder edged group.
For months, Thomas conducted a hard hitting guerrilla campaign against the city's financial institutions and GAOM. When he was eventually arrested and charged, Castelan saw him as such a threat that they faked a rescue attempt during his transportation in order to kill him with apparent impunity. This event in many ways was the catalyst for the attempted coup of December 2003.
But Thomas's involvement in the Court did not end there. Utilising a still unknown technology, GAOM resurrected Steven Thomas, rigged him with explosives and returned him to the Court. Although the attempt to assassinate Dimitri failed, it did indicate that the Court was now at war with Castelan and GAOM.
