Whilst the disappearance of the Tremere Antitribu in the late 1990's is well documented in Kindred circles, what is less well known is the frenzied recruitment drive that followed in order to bolster the Tremere's numbers with in the Sabbat once again. One casualty of this drive was the Tremere Primogen of Manhattan, William Taylor.
William Taylor's presence in the city first became known following the events of December 2003. Whilst a severely weakened Court regrouped in the January of 2004, Taylor began to systematically target known Elysium in the city, presumably under the direction of Van Der Meer. In the space of one weekend a full quarter of the city's Elysium where either damaged or destroyed at the hands of this lunatic, forcing the Court to take steps to bolster their security.
Over the coming months, his lopsided gait and maniacal laughter become a common calling card across the city as members of the Court pursued him. Some saw his appearance as a direct threat to the Masquerade; the burns, the shock of white air and the speed with which he moved marking him out as something more than human. Something had to be done.
In June 2004, the Archon arrived in the city, keen to end the problem of the Sabbat. Archbishop Taylor was one of the first to fall to his sword. However, the circumstances of his death were not without question. Taylor attacked the Archon when the latter attempted to intercept a child under the Sabbat's charge. Although Taylor was killed for his actions, the attack did allow the Cardinal to escape with the child, preventing the Archon from reaching his prize.
Two aspects remain unclear regarding Taylor, how he rose to prominence in the Sabbat so quickly and that of his parentage. All records of Taylor's lineage within the Tremere have been struck from the records as a matter of secrecy. If anyone can unlock the secrets of Taylor's past they may be able to answer some questions about the present.
